Construction unit converter for US and metric measurements
Move between supplier specs, drawings and site measurements without doing the arithmetic by hand. US defaults put feet, square feet, cubic yards, pounds, Fahrenheit and PSI first.
Seven conversion groups
The units that cross your desk and jobsite.
Choose a category, enter one value and select the source and target units. The tool also shows the same input across every other unit in that category, which is useful when a drawing, product sheet and supplier quote all use different systems.
- Feet, inches, yards, miles and metric length
- Square feet, square yards, acres and metric area
- Cubic feet, cubic yards, US gallons and metric volume
- Ounces, pounds, US short tons and kilograms
- Fahrenheit, Celsius and Kelvin
- PSI, kPa, bar and other pressure units
- Miles per hour, feet per second and metric speed
Need a concrete order, not just a conversion?
Use the US concrete calculator to turn feet-based slab, footing, column and step dimensions into cubic yards with a visible waste allowance.
Important measurement notes
US liquid gallons and UK imperial gallons are different volumes. This converter lists them separately so a gallon value is never treated as universal.
Rounded display values are convenient for checking work, but use the original drawing, product tolerance and required precision for fabrication, engineering or code decisions.
