Track work hours for employees. Calculate weekly totals, overtime, and pay.
A useful timesheet records more than a single weekly total. The dates, worker, start and finish times, unpaid breaks, job or location and approving person should be clear enough to resolve a question later. Agree how travel, overtime, call-outs and rounded time are handled before the first entry is made, then apply the same rule consistently. The calculated pay is an estimate based on the rates entered; payroll, tax, pension, holiday and employment-law treatment still need to follow the worker's contract and the business's payroll process. Review and approve records promptly while the work is still fresh, and restrict access because timesheets contain personal and commercial information.
